A Worship Leader’s Perspective – Vol. 1

Some days you stand before your congregation and pour out your best to lead them into God’s presence. But only 15-20% of the congregation seem to have come in with a mind prepared to worship and the rest are staring right through you. It’s a frustrating position.

What do you do?? Well you have a few options.

You can take the common route of guilting the audience into acting like they’re worshipping. But this seldom generates anything pure or authentic.

You can get drawn into their responses and lessen your intensity. But that’s not fair to God.

My preferred response to this situation is to just worship God from my heart until He comes in and meets those who came to see Him. The rest can watch if they chose to. But usually they get drawn in during His visit.
